BeaconUpgrades ("we", "us", "our") is a lead-generation service that connects homeowners in Greater Manchester, with further UK regions planned, with trusted local installers of windows, doors and related home improvements. We are the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
We operate the website beaconupgrades.com. You can contact us at hello@beaconupgrades.com.
We collect the following information:
Please do not include any sensitive personal information, or images of people, in the photos or other fields you submit — we only need a clear photo of the window or door.
We use the information we collect to:
Our lawful bases for processing are: your consent (when you choose to request a quote and we share your details with an installer); our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the service; and compliance with our legal obligations. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
Sharing with a local installer. If you request a quote, we will pass your details — your name, phone number, email (if provided), postcode, property type, and the AI assessment of your photo — to one trusted local installer that covers your area, so that they can contact you with a quote.
That installer is an independent business and becomes a separate data controller for the information we share with them; their own use of your data is governed by their own privacy policy. We pass your enquiry to a single installer — we do not broadcast it to multiple companies.
We also use trusted service providers ("processors") to operate the service on our behalf, including:
We do not share your personal data with any third party for their own marketing purposes.
BeaconUpgrades uses artificial intelligence (a large language model) to assess the information that you provide / upload and produce your estimate. The assessment is based solely on the input you provide.
We do not use your inputs to train AI models. Your photo and details are used only to generate your specific estimate and, where you request it, to arrange your quote.
The estimate is indicative guidance only. It is not professional advice, a survey, or a binding quote — the matched installer confirms the exact price after a free survey.
Your data is stored on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS, and data at rest is encrypted using industry-standard encryption.
Some of our service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the providers' standard contractual clauses and certifications) to protect it.
We keep your information only for as long as necessary:
You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see "Your Rights").
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@beaconupgrades.com. We will respond within one month and may need to verify your identity first.
